Studio Allegra
Studio Allegra LLC, founded by creatives, was created in response to a myriad of needs observed in the art community – lack of holistic entrepreneurship education models preparing artists to enter the art market, gaps in connection between artists, patrons and collectors, and inaccessible and costly third spaces for authentic community and artistic programming.
Based on these needs, the ArtHouse was created to be a place for community, connection, creativity and learning. Through interactions with emerging artists, we discovered that entrepreneurial education was a growing pain point and need. So, we decided to create a fully integrated fellowship program to support emerging artists. The Artist Fellowship Program is a 3 month intensive entrepreneurship program with a curriculum (60 page book) and wellness components aimed at taking the “starving” out of “starving artist” by equipping them with knowledge to manage their careers and feel empowered. The Fellowship program employs a unique approach, a combination of the studio habits of artists, ancient wellness modalities and a modified version of SCRUM, a system of productivity, to address business education and career development for artists.
The 3 month program offers 1-on-1 project support with artists where we develop and execute on a 3 month career growth plan. Also included are courses, such as social media development, website development, Business and Taxes, Financial Literacy for Artists, Art Portfolio development and networking. We also include practicums that coincide with courses, such as the Artists Roundtable where industry professionals examine and provide feedback on artists’ portfolio, studio visits with established artists, and a Networking Luncheon featuring collectors, patrons, and industry professionals.
We are also committed to the well-being of artists and providing wellness practices that serve as support for them. We are committed to minimizing the stigma that artistic excellence necessitates artists who are unwell; we want to demonstrate that well-being is an important pillar for artistic excellence and sustainability in an artist’s career.
Studio Allegra is a model that empowers, supports and centers the creative voices, iconoclasts and changemakers of our time to engage social issues and create meaningful impact.
